Easton, PA - The Varsity Panthers soccer team hosted the Lions of Faith Christian (Roseto) on Tuesday, September 17th looking to avenge the loss they suffered to the Lions in their opening game of the season. 

The game got off to a rocky start for the Panthers, as the Lions were able to score three goals by the midway point of the first half. There was no quit in this Panthers team on this Tuesday evening, however. Soon after the Lions scored their third goal of the game, junior, Gabe Transue broke through the defense and was able to net his first goal of the season to trim the deficit down to two goals. At the halftime break, the Panthers trailed 3-1. The second half proved to be different as the Panthers kept possession of the ball due to great passing. Midway through the second half, junior, Nick Kasper found a gap through the defense and was able to get the ball past the Lions goalie and into the net to cut the deficit down to one goal. Despite many shots later taken by the Panthers, none were able to find the net to tie up the game. The Lions were officially able to secure the win when they scored again late in the second half to increase their lead to 4-2. The Panthers ultimately fell by a final score of 4-2.

Your Varsity Panthers soccer team will be back on the field when they travel to Valley Forge to take on the Patriots under the lights. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
