Box Score Easton, Pa - The Bethlehem Christian Varsity Girls basketball season came to a close on Saturday. The Panthers fought hard against the Hilltoppers of Nativity BVM in the District 11 consolation game and district final. The Panthers fell by a score of 41-38.
The Panthers got off to a hot start.
Abigail Wilson nailed a 3 early and
Elyse Khachadourian,
Faith Rex,
Emma DeBoer, and
Liah Cornelius all recorded points in the first quarter. The Panthers led 11-5 after the first period of play. BCS continued its strong play in the 2nd quarter. Wilson went on to drain two more treys and
Giana Kasper added a layup and a three of her own. The Panthers led 23-15 at the halftime break.
Bethlehem Christian led throughout quarter number 3 and entered the 4th with a 31-24 lead. Unfortunately the Hilltoppers were able to chip away and take the lead late from the Panthers. The Panthers final shot fell short as BCS's season came to end with a final score of 41-38.
The Panthers have nothing to hang their head about. The 2nd year PIAA program made huge leaps this year under head Coach Greg Duff. The Panthers end the year with a regular season record of 11-9. BCS finished 2nd in District XI 1A which earned them silver medals.
