Panthers Run Past Lions in Season OpenerĀ
Quakertown, PA - The Varsity Panthers Boys Basketball team played their season opener in Quakertown against the Lions of Faith Christian Academy on 12/2/24.Ā Ā
The Panthers started out hot in this game led by Gabe Transue who drilled 3 three pointers in the first frame. By the end of the 1st quarter, the Panthers held a slight advantage over the Lions with a 19-18 lead. The Panthers continued to put points on the board and played lockdown defense in the second quarter which led to a 40-26 lead at halftime. The Lions in the third quarter were able to capitalize off of Panther turnovers in the third quarter which dwindled the Panthers lead down to 1, 58-57. A tight fourth quarter ensued with the Panthers and Lions trading bucket after bucket. Then with less than 20 seconds left, Myles Harris drove to the basket and scored which led to a 78-77 lead for the Panthers. After some final free throws, the Panthers defeated the Lions 82-77. Gabe Transue led the way for the scoring with 32 points throughout the contest along with Myles Harris adding 26 points. Other scorers include Deion Swift ā 8 points, Caleb Brown ā 6 points, Roman Rex ā 4 points, Nick Kasper ā 4 points, and Caleb Primrose ā 2 points.Ā Ā

The Varsity Panthers start the season with a 1-0 record and will be back on the floor when they travel to Coventry Christian School to take on the Eagles on Friday, December 6th. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.Ā Ā
