Easton, PA - The Varsity Panthers soccer team played vs. the Patriots of Valley Forge Baptist on Thursday, October 10th looking to win their season finale in front of the home crowd.
The Panthers came into this game feeling confident after winning comfortably over the Lions of Lincoln Leadership Academy and looked to use that momentum against the Patriots.
The Patriots, however struck first by scoring early on in the game to put the Panthers down 1-0 in the game. The Panthers battled back though and were able to tie up the game after senior, Owen Wescoe broke through the defense and scored a goal. By halftime, the game was knotted up at 1 apiece. In the second half, neither side could gain much momentum until midway through the second half when the Panthers took the lead. Junior, Josh Richards scored on a free kick to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead. The Panthers did not allow the Patriots to get their offense going due to the stout defense led by, juniors, Noel Lukitsch, Caleb Primrose, Ashton Wescoe, and senior, Jude Transue. The Panthers wound up defeating the Patriots 2-1 and have now won 4 of their last 5 games to end the season.

With this win, the Varsity Panthers soccer team has secured the third seed in the ACCAC playoffs and will play in the semi-final on Friday, October 18th vs. Upper Bucks at Upper Bucks Christian School.
