The Varsity Panthers soccer team traveled to Salem Christian School to take on the Eagles on Friday, September 27 in a game under the lights. 

The Panthers came into this game hot with sophomore, Deion Swift finding a gap through the defense and netting his first goal of the season to put the Panthers up 1-0. This score took place under three minutes into the game which gave the Panthers a start that they needed. The Eagles however battled back by a scoring a goal midway through the first half to tie the game up at one apiece. Swift came right back though and was able to drive down the field and score again to put the Panthers up 2-1 which would remain as the score going into the second half. The Eagles came out strong in the second which resulted in them scoring a goal off of a tough angle to tie the game up at 2-2 early on in the second half. The Panthers were not done yet, however. Off of a throw-in, junior, Gabe Transue battled through traffic near the goal line and was able to score a goal which resulted in the Panthers being up 3-2. Despite many shots taken by the Eagles, senior goalie, Roman Rex made save after save through the slick conditions to help preserve the 3-2 win for the Panthers. This was a crucial win for the Panthers to give them momentum going into next week.
