Quakertown, PA - The Boys Middle School Basketball team took on the Bears of Quakertown Christian on Friday Night. The Panthers secured a win in thrilling fashion and won by a final score of 28-27.
The Panthers trailed in every quarter except the one that always matters. Trailing 25-22 entering the 4th period, The Panthers leaned on the duo of
Preston Rex (15 points) and
Christian Transue (10 points).
Preston Rex made two huge layups late in the period to tie the game at 27. With time ticking away, Rex found
Christian Transue underneath with a beautiful pass. As Transue attempted a layup, he was fouled and headed to the stripe. After missing the first attempt, Transue converted the second attempt to give the Panthers a 28-27 lead. The Bears inbound was tipped and time expired. The Panthers were able to come back in the 4th quarter and win by a final score of 28-27.
Looking Ahead
The Panthers will break for Christmas and be back on the floor when they take on Kings Academy on Thursday, January 5th. Tip-off is set for 4:45 at the Upper Campus.
