Easton, PA - Throughout the Winter Sports Season we will take some time to highlight our 2020-2021 Basketball Coaches. Today's spotlight is our High School Boys Head Coach,
Jay Sabo.
Coach Sabo was born and raised right here in the Lehigh Valley. He was born in Allentown and raised in South Allentown. Coach Sabo graduated from Central Catholic High School. Sabo received his Bachelors and Masters in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University in 2011. He entered the coaching world following his undergrad in 1996.
Coach Sabo has a long history of coaching in the Lehigh Valley. His resume includes stints at Lighthouse Christian Academy for 7 seasons, 1 year at Salem Christian Academy, and 1 year at St. Joe's (CYO). Not only is Coach Sabo the Basketball Coach at BCS but he is also the ELA and Algebra 1 teacher for the Middle School and High School.
Sabo's passion for coaching comes from "wanting to make a difference in lives of youth. Basketball is a way of teaching life lessons beyond the game of Basketball. Trust, teamwork, collaboration, and faith are all key elements in which those lessons can be implemented and practiced in life."
Sabo said "We need and currently have coachable students. My vision revolves around a grass roots type of program where the building blocks are not only here, but will be continuing to be put in place as we move the program forward. I am excited about the future of the Panther Basketball program and cannot wait to see what the future holds."
